Hungry Hill Crossing Petition
Hungry Hill Crossing Petition
Local campaigner Naz Ahmed has launched a petition calling on Dudley Council to install a safe pedestrian crossing on Hungry Hill.
For years, parents, grandparents and local residents have raised concerns about the difficulty of crossing this busy road — particularly at school drop-off and pick-up times. Traffic speeds can be high, visibility is limited, and there is currently no formal crossing point to help children or older residents cross safely.
Naz Ahmed said:
“Every child should be able to get to school safely, and every older resident should feel confident crossing their own road. Hungry Hill is long overdue a proper, marked crossing. We shouldn’t have to wait for a serious accident before action is taken.”
Local families have told Naz they often have to dash across gaps in traffic, while elderly residents say they sometimes avoid the area altogether. With more housing and traffic in the wider area, the problem is only increasing.
The Liberal Democrats are calling for Dudley Council to carry out an urgent safety assessment and install a zebra or signal-controlled crossing at the most appropriate point on Hungry Hill.
Naz added:
“If you agree it’s time for action, please sign our petition and help us show the Council just how strongly our community feels.”
Sign the petition today and back a safer Hungry Hill.
